  • As financial planners, we are fee-based and hold the highest fiduciary standard. As our client’s most trusted agents in the industry, we earn the same compensation irrespective of how you invest. Our deliverables are entirely centered around you and the fiduciary we hold means we have to put our clients’ standards and care above all else.

    A financial advisor, on the other hand, is almost always commission based. They tend to make more or less, based on what you invest in. Financial advisors do not have as strict of a fiduciary standard, as a result of their contractual status. Financial advisors often advise from an executive team at the company who is forbidding them from many great types of public holdings or excellent deferred compensation strategies, to name a couple problems with the financial advisor approach.

    A commission based broker is typically also a financial advisor. This is also not a good fit for being our client’s advisors because our clients need more. They’re hungry for tax advice, real estate decision consulting, and our strategies are unbiased. We are paid for consulting regardless of how our clients plan and mitigate the impact of taxes or anything else.

    A financial planner is a financial advisor who is licensed to do everything a financial advisor does. We are also wealth managers and investment advisors, meaning we specialize on the investing side and we have a team that can help the higher net worth client.

    The financial planner, as your fee-based consultant, has a higher standard of care, that’s the fiduciary and really this is most important. The fiduciary standard guides the decisions at the highest level for clients when working with a financial planner.

    The financial advisor standards are much lower. Each fee-based advisor does have what’s called an ADV to disclose any conflicts of interest.     Ultimatey, we have walked away from anything that is not suitable for clients and we have a very long career - over 10 years as licensed partners with no disciplinary or client complaints.

    How did our analysts get so big? In most brokerages which we are not we’re a registered investment advisory but in most brokerages advice comes with soft dollars like office space and bonuses. Our team doesn’t get paid for steering. Steering to companies or investments that pay more is the counter opposite of how we operate.

    To put this in perspective, most investment advisors or wealth managers, as well as financial planners and almost always financial advisors - they are all with big name firms that have conflicts that are as high as 5.75% for loads meaning commissions and higher, per fund. We have a flat fee model and it is much more advantageous for clients.

    Because of our partners’ background we saw Wallstreet treat our well to do families terribly due to these big business conflicts. Former advisors would make recommendations based on what the top dogs wanted the clients to be in for their own selfish reasons.

    For example, as a dealer and a broker, which brokerages are, advisories offload securities they no longer want onto clients. This is what a dealer does. This is the definition of dealer in the broker dealer model.

    The problem lies therein when clients are offloaded funds and then those funds are failing. The fact that the securities are going down in value is why brokerages offload them to their clients.

    As publicly traded entities, the stockholders interest comes above the client interest. Thus, they keep getting away with it.

    We could register as a brokerage but our firm chooses to be one of the rare ones that is a registered investment advisory and not both a registered investment advisory and a brokerage because we don’t wait to take money that is more or less based on our recommendations.

    Also, as a registered investment advisory that we started, and not that we just plug and play into like literally all the other companies are Boracchia Wiviott Wealth Partners utilizes tried and true methods from centuries and innovative approaches that are truly independent from biasness. We are small - and therefore you know our team not just the puppet so to speak who is advising based off someone’s recommendations who doesn’t actually care about you.

    We also need to know more about your plan – is it to have everything you or your heirs are used to; for most, about 8 out of every 10 clients it is plan b.
